1. SCOPE AND ACCEPTANCE

These Worldwide Terms & Conditions of Carriage govern courier, express, parcel and related logistics services provided by Impresto Courier. By booking, tendering, handing over, or authorizing a shipment, the Shipper accepts these terms on its own behalf and, where applicable, on behalf of the Consignee.

2. DEFINITIONS

"Impresto Courier, Company, we, us or our" means Impresto Courier and its authorized agents, contractors and service partners. "Shipper" means the person or business tendering the shipment. "Consignee" means the intended recipient. "Shipment" means documents, parcels, merchandise or goods accepted for carriage. "COD" means Cash on Delivery.

3. CONSIGNMENT NOTE / AWB

A shipment may be recorded under an airway bill, consignment note, tracking number or electronic shipment record. The Shipper is responsible for the accuracy of sender/recipient names, addresses, telephone numbers, descriptions, quantities, weights, dimensions and declared values.

4. ROUTING AND SUBCONTRACTING

Impresto Courier may select the route, mode of transport and service providers used to complete a shipment. We may use airlines, road carriers, postal operators, customs brokers, agents, subcontractors, warehouses and delivery partners. A shipment may pass through intermediate countries or facilities.

5. INSPECTION AND SECURITY

For safety, security, customs, regulatory or operational reasons, Impresto Courier may open, inspect, scan, x-ray, weigh, measure, re-pack, isolate or otherwise examine a shipment. Such inspection does not constitute a guarantee that the contents are lawful, correctly declared or suitable for carriage.

6. PACKAGING AND LABELLING

The Shipper is responsible for secure, suitable and sufficient packaging and correct labels. Packaging must protect the contents against normal handling, sorting, loading, unloading and transportation. Fragile, liquid, valuable, perishable or special goods require packaging appropriate to their nature.

7. SHIPPER WARRANTIES

The Shipper warrants that it owns the goods or is authorized to ship them; the contents are lawful; descriptions and values are accurate; packaging is adequate; and all required permits, licences, invoices and customs documents are available. The Shipper is responsible for consequences of false, incomplete, misleading or undervalued declarations.

8. PROHIBITED AND RESTRICTED GOODS

Goods prohibited by applicable law, customs rules, airline/carrier requirements or Impresto Courier policy must not be tendered. Examples may include explosives, firearms and ammunition, illegal drugs, hazardous/dangerous materials, counterfeit goods, certain batteries, live animals, human remains, illegal or controlled items and other restricted articles. Certain goods may only be accepted with prior written approval and special arrangements. The Company may refuse or stop any shipment where required for safety, legal or operational reasons.

9. CUSTOMS, IMPORT AND EXPORT

The Shipper authorizes Impresto Courier and appointed customs agents to perform reasonable customs formalities. The Shipper must provide accurate commercial invoices, plain-language descriptions, quantities, country of origin, values, HS information and permits where required. Customs duties, VAT/GST, taxes, inspection fees, storage, demurrage, penalties and government charges may be payable by the Shipper or Consignee according to the destination and agreed billing terms.

10. DUTIES, TAXES AND DISBURSEMENTS

Where Impresto Courier advances duties, taxes or customs-related amounts on behalf of a Shipper or Consignee, the responsible party shall reimburse those amounts and any applicable disbursement/handling fees. If the Consignee refuses or fails to pay amounts due, the Shipper may remain responsible to the extent permitted by applicable law and the agreed billing terms.

11. CHARGEABLE WEIGHT / DIMENSIONAL WEIGHT

Unless a specific tariff states otherwise, charges may be calculated using the higher of actual gross weight and volumetric/dimensional weight. Volumetric weight may be calculated using the applicable divisor published or agreed for the service and destination. Impresto Courier may re-weigh and re-measure any shipment and adjust charges accordingly.

12. CHARGES, SURCHARGES AND PAYMENT

Transportation charges are based on the applicable tariff, quotation, account agreement or booking. Additional charges may apply for customs services, duties/taxes, remote areas, re-delivery, address correction, storage, special handling, oversized/overweight pieces, fuel or other applicable surcharges. The Shipper remains responsible for charges properly incurred under the shipment.

13. DELIVERY AND PROOF OF DELIVERY

Impresto Courier will use reasonable efforts to deliver to the address supplied. Delivery may be made to the Consignee or an authorized person. Proof of delivery may include signature, OTP, photograph, electronic confirmation, delivery scan, call/message confirmation or other reasonable evidence.

14. TRANSIT TIMES AND DELAYS

Transit times are estimates unless a specific guaranteed service has been agreed in writing. Delays may occur due to customs, weather, traffic, public holidays, security measures, transport disruption, incorrect information, recipient unavailability, government action or other events beyond reasonable control. Unless expressly guaranteed, transit estimates do not constitute a guarantee of delivery time.

15. COD SERVICE

COD is available only where expressly agreed. The Shipper must provide correct COD instructions and amount. Impresto Courier may collect the COD amount from the Consignee and remit it to the Shipper according to the agreed settlement cycle. COD instructions may not be changed after dispatch except through an approved Company process.

16. COD POST-DELIVERY RETURN

Once a COD parcel is received by the customer or authorized recipient and the COD amount is paid or confirmed, delivery is considered completed. If the customer subsequently returns the parcel to the rider, it is treated as a post-delivery return. The rider may accept the parcel for operational or safety reasons, but acceptance does not create renewed delivery liability for Impresto Courier.

17. THIRD-PARTY HANDOVER AFTER DELIVERY

If a customer or recipient hands a delivered parcel to another rider, driver, courier, representative or other third party after acceptance, the parcel is thereafter at the recipient's own risk. Impresto Courier is not responsible for subsequent loss, damage, theft, misplacement or dispute arising from that later handover.

18. UNDELIVERABLE / REFUSED SHIPMENTS

If delivery cannot be completed due to refusal, incorrect address, unavailable recipient, access restriction, customs issue, missing documentation or another delivery problem, Impresto Courier may arrange re-delivery, return-to-sender or another lawful disposition. Additional charges may apply.

19. RETURN-TO-SENDER AND INTERNATIONAL RETURNS

Where a shipment is returned to the Shipper, the Shipper may be responsible for return transportation, customs, duties, taxes, storage, handling and other charges incurred in connection with the return, unless a written agreement states otherwise.

20. UAE REMOTE AREA CHARGE

For shipments requiring delivery to a UAE remote area, an additional AED 150 delivery charge applies unless a different written tariff has been agreed. For international destinations, remote-area charges may vary according to the destination carrier and applicable tariff.

21. RETURNED PARCEL WAREHOUSE STORAGE

A returned parcel received at the Impresto Courier warehouse will be held for 15 days. After 15 days, storage charges of AED 5 per day apply until collection. If the parcel remains unclaimed for one month from warehouse receipt, despite reasonable contact attempts, Impresto Courier may, subject to applicable law, dispose of or destroy the parcel. The Shipper remains responsible for applicable charges.

22. LOST OR MISSING SHIPMENT – CLAIM BASIS

If a shipment is lost or missing while in the Company's custody, the Shipper may submit a claim subject to investigation and verification. For a normal, properly declared shipment, an approved claim will be assessed based on the declared invoice value, subject to applicable international conventions, mandatory law, contractual liability limits and supporting evidence.

23. PROHIBITED / RESTRICTED / UNDECLARED CLAIM LIMIT

For prohibited, restricted, undeclared, incorrectly declared or otherwise non-compliant goods, the maximum claim or liability payable by Impresto Courier shall be USD 100, regardless of the actual value, subject to applicable law. This limitation does not waive any mandatory liability imposed by law.

24. DECLARED VALUE AND OPTIONAL INSURANCE

Where available, the Shipper may request a higher declared value or separate cargo insurance subject to written acceptance, eligibility, additional charges and the applicable insurance/declared-value terms. A declared value is not automatically insurance coverage unless expressly stated in writing.

25. LIABILITY FOR LOSS, DAMAGE AND DELAY

Except where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited, Impresto Courier's liability for direct loss or physical damage is limited to the amount required by applicable international convention or mandatory transport law, or the specific contractual limit applicable to the service, whichever is applicable. Indirect, consequential, special or commercial losses, including loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity or goodwill, are excluded to the extent permitted by law.

26. CLAIM NOTICE AND DOCUMENTS

Claims for loss, damage, shortage or non-delivery must be submitted in writing within the claim period communicated by Impresto Courier and/or required by applicable law. The claimant must provide the tracking/AWB number, invoice or receipt, proof of value, photographs, packaging evidence and other documents reasonably requested. Investigation may include inspection of the shipment and packaging.

27. CLAIM SETTLEMENT

Any approved claim will be subject to verification, applicable liability limits, supporting documents and any mandatory legal requirements. Settlement of an approved claim may constitute full and final settlement of the relevant loss or damage to the extent permitted by law.

28. CUSTOMS SEIZURE / ABANDONMENT / DISPOSAL

If customs, a government authority or another competent body seizes, detains, refuses entry to, requires destruction of or otherwise disposes of a shipment, Impresto Courier may comply with that authority's instructions. The Shipper may remain responsible for duties, taxes, storage, penalties, return, destruction and other resulting costs where attributable to the shipment or Shipper.

29. COMPLIANCE, SANCTIONS AND EXPORT CONTROLS

The Shipper and Consignee must comply with applicable import/export controls, sanctions, restricted-party rules and destination-country requirements. Impresto Courier may refuse or suspend a shipment where compliance cannot reasonably be established.

30. FORCE MAJEURE

Impresto Courier is not responsible for delay, loss or damage caused by events reasonably beyond its control, including natural disasters, severe weather, war, civil disturbance, strikes, epidemics, governmental action, customs intervention, security restrictions, transport disruption, infrastructure failure or carrier/airport closure.

31. DATA AND CONTACT INFORMATION

Impresto Courier may use shipment information and contact details as reasonably necessary for transportation, tracking, delivery, customs clearance, billing, customer service and claims handling, subject to applicable privacy laws.

32. LIEN AND UNPAID AMOUNTS

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Impresto Courier may retain possession of goods where transportation charges, duties, storage charges or other amounts remain unpaid and may exercise lawful remedies available for recovery.

33. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

These Terms are subject to applicable mandatory laws and international conventions governing the relevant carriage. Where permitted, disputes relating to Impresto Courier services shall be submitted to the competent courts of the jurisdiction specified in the applicable service agreement, booking documentation or Company terms.

34. AMENDMENTS

Impresto Courier may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version applicable to a shipment will be the version communicated or published at the relevant time, subject to applicable law and any binding written agreement.

35. CUSTOMER / SHIPPER ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

By tendering a shipment to Impresto Courier, the Shipper confirms that it has read and accepted these Terms & Conditions and agrees to provide lawful contents, accurate information, proper packaging, required documents and payment of applicable charges.
