1. PURPOSE
This SOP establishes clear procedures and responsibilities regarding COD delivery, payment, returns, warehouse storage, claims, and liability for customers, shippers, riders, and Impresto Courier.

2. COD PARCEL DELIVERY POLICY

Impresto Courier will deliver the COD parcel to the customer or an authorized representative and collect the applicable COD amount. Once the parcel is handed over and the COD amount is received or confirmed, the shipment is considered successfully delivered and the delivery responsibility of Impresto Courier is completed.

3. PARCEL RETURN AFTER CUSTOMER HAS RECEIVED THE PARCEL

If the customer has received the parcel and paid the COD amount but later requests a return, this is a post-delivery return. If the customer returns the parcel to the rider, including during a dispute or argument, the rider may accept it to manage the situation and ensure safety. The original delivery remains completed, and Impresto Courier is not responsible for the customer's decision to return the parcel. Acceptance by the rider does not mean Impresto Courier has accepted post-delivery liability.

4. HANDOVER TO ANOTHER RIDER OR THIRD PARTY

If the customer receives the parcel and then hands it to another rider, driver, courier, representative, employee, friend, or any third party, the parcel is thereafter at the customer's/recipient's own risk and responsibility. Impresto Courier is not responsible for subsequent loss, damage, theft, misplacement, delay, unauthorized transfer, or dispute.

5. DELIVERY TIME - UAE

  • Dubai, Sharjah & Ajman: 4–5 working days.
  • Other UAE Cities/Areas: 6–7 working days.

Delivery times may vary due to destination, recipient availability, traffic, public holidays, weather, operational circumstances, or unforeseen events.

6. REMOTE AREA DELIVERY CHARGES

For shipments requiring delivery to a remote area, an additional AED 150 remote-area delivery charge applies in addition to standard delivery charges. This charge is payable by the shipper/customer.

7. RETURNED PARCEL - WAREHOUSE STORAGE POLICY

A returned parcel received at the Impresto Courier warehouse will be held for 15 days. The shipper must collect it within this period. After 15 days, a storage charge of AED 5 per day applies and continues until collection. If the shipper does not collect the parcel within one month from warehouse receipt and it remains unclaimed despite reasonable contact attempts, Impresto Courier reserves the right to dispose of or destroy the parcel under its internal procedures, without further liability for the unclaimed parcel.

8. CUSTOMER / SHIPPER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide accurate delivery information, contact number and address.
  • Be available to receive the shipment.
  • Check the parcel at delivery where applicable.
  • Decide to accept or refuse before completing delivery.
  • Take responsibility for any authorized recipient and any later third-party handover.
  • Collect returned parcels within the storage period.
  • Pay applicable remote-area and storage charges.

9. IMPRESTO COURIER'S RESPONSIBILITY

Impresto Courier's delivery responsibility extends until successful delivery and receipt/confirmation of the COD amount. After successful handover and COD confirmation, delivery is complete. Subsequent transactions, handovers, returns, transfers, or arrangements between the customer and another rider/third party are outside Impresto Courier's responsibility.

10. PROOF OF DELIVERY

Delivery records may include delivery confirmation, COD payment confirmation, OTP, signature, photograph, call/message confirmation, and delivery status. Such records may be used as evidence of successful delivery.

11. CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

By accepting the COD parcel and completing payment, the customer/recipient acknowledges:

"Once I have received the parcel and paid the COD amount, the shipment is considered successfully delivered. If I subsequently return or hand over the parcel to another rider, driver, courier, representative, or third party, any loss, damage, theft, misplacement, return, or dispute thereafter is my responsibility, and Impresto Courier shall not be held liable."

12. LOST OR MISSING PARCEL - CLAIM POLICY

If a parcel is lost or missing while in the custody of Impresto Courier, the shipper may submit a claim subject to verification and investigation. If approved, compensation will be calculated based on the declared invoice value, subject to applicable Impresto Courier terms. The shipper must provide a valid invoice, receipt, or other acceptable proof of declared value.

13. RESTRICTED / PROHIBITED / UNDECLARED ITEMS

For shipments containing prohibited, restricted, undeclared, incorrectly declared, or otherwise non-compliant items, the maximum claim/liability payable by Impresto Courier shall be limited to USD 100, regardless of the actual value. The shipper is responsible for correct declaration and compliance with applicable laws, customs requirements, and Impresto Courier policies.

14. CLAIM REQUIREMENTS

Claims must be submitted within the applicable claim period and include requested supporting documents. Impresto Courier reserves the right to investigate before approving compensation. No claim is automatically payable merely because a parcel is reported lost or missing.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
Once COD payment is received/confirmed and the parcel is successfully handed over to the customer or an authorized person, delivery is complete. Impresto Courier is not responsible for any subsequent return, third-party handover, loss, damage, theft, misplacement, or dispute arising after acceptance.
